Kelsey Kerwin

Kelsey is a University of Missouri School of Journalism graduate who came to ABC 17 News in February of 2015. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Kelsey came to Missouri in 2010 pursuing a career in broadcast news and wanting the best education the industry has to offer.

Kelsey learned about the business during her time working as an intern for ABC affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas, TX. There, she worked with award winning journalists and practiced reporting and anchoring skills. While in Dallas, Kelsey helped cover the fatal DWI crash that pushed “affluenza teen” Ethan Couch into the national spotlight.

Kelsey started her career in Kansas City as a producer for NBC affiliate KSHB-TV. There, Kelsey worked as a producer for KSHB’s morning show. She helped cover the 2014 World Series, violence in Ferguson, MO and also worked as a roving traffic reporter.

Kelsey fulfills many roles in the ABC 17 News room working as a Supervising Producer/ Anchor. She spent more than a year leading coverage for ABC 17 News This Morning and ABC 17 News at 9:00 a.m. She helped manage digital content on all platforms, worked as an assignment editor, managed breaking news, and appeared in newscasts as a breaking news anchor. Kelsey produces and anchors ABC 17 News at Noon and produces ABC 17 News at 5:00. One of her favorite experiences at ABC 17 News was covering the 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia.

In Kelsey’s free time she enjoys spending time with friends, fishing, going to country concerts, hiking, and loving on her adorable border collie puppy.
