Sara Jane Maslar-Donar

Sara joined ABC 17 News as a reporter in June 2015. She grew up in a suburb about 40 minutes from downtown Chicago but never tires of telling people she's "from Chicago." At a young age, Sara knew she wanted to be a journalist, and after years of hard work, graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. During her college career, Sara had the opportunity to work as a multimedia journalist for the NBC affiliate KOMU 8 News, the university owned and operated television station. It was there that she was able to hone her skills and work in the professional world while still a student herself. She's extremely excited to continue getting to know the stories and people of mid-Missouri over the next few years and to stay close to her alma mater. When she's not tracking down stories, Sara can be found re-reading the Harry Potter books for the upteenth time or enjoying time with friends somewhere she can have a good craft beer. You can follow Sara on Twitter or 'Like' her on Facebook.
