MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (AP) — A suburban St. Louis man is hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by lightning while riding his bicycle.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1pPOghF ) reports that the 51-year-old Ballwin man was biking along the Maryland Heights Expressway Thursday afternoon when he was struck in the head by lightning and went into cardiac arrest.
Police say the man worked in the Riverport area and was biking home despite a strong storm. Witnesses stopped to help and paramedics who arrived within four minutes were able to revive him.
The man's name has not been released.
