'Jesus' runs the New York City Marathon
Son of God competes in race barefoot with a large cross on his back
Many spectators and runners in Sunday's New York City Marathon did a double take at the sight of Jesus on the race route.
There are always plenty of runners in costume for the race, which usually falls right after Halloween.
But the sight of the Son of God running the race barefoot with a large, cardboard cross on his back caused quite the stir. Dozens of witnesses snapped photos and posted them to social media.
The man was identified by his bib number as New York-based photographer Makoto Takeuchi, according to Gawker.
There was no word on the Messiah's finish time. He was on a 10:40 min/mile pace through the first 10 miles.
