Boonville diner owner charged with failing to remit sales tax

BOONVILLE, Mo - Boonville diner owner Carol Clark has been charged with failing to remit the sales tax due for 19 monthly sales tax periods. 

Clark is the owner of Prairie Home Diner, a restaurant required to collect sales tax on all retail sales. 

Back in 2016, Clark pleded guilty in Cooper County to making retail sales without a retail sales tax license. She was given two years unsupervised probation and must pay the past due sales tax. 

According the the probable cause statement, the state of Missouri incurred a loss of $17,240.91 because of Clark. 

As of this month, Clark's sales tax account remains delinquent.
