Car crash in Audrain County kills one person

84-year-old drove off road, into tree

AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported online that a crash in Audrain County has claimed the life of an 84-year-old man from Mexico, Missouri.

The report said William Phillips was traveling northbound on Route Z near County Road 364 when the car left the road and hit a tree. 

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin was notified by troopers.

The report said Phillips was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Troop F has seen five deadly crashes in October and 47 so far this year.
