Centralia police arrest man accused of resisting arrest, initiating multi-county pursuit.

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. - Tanner Spurlock was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after he took off from Centralia police officers.

According to the probable cause statement, police made contact with Spurlock when they questioned his license plate number. 

Officers said they saw Spurlock get a one hitter pipe and asked him to hand it over. 

Police said they instructed Spurlock to put his hands on the roof of his vehicle but Spurlock got into his vehicle and started his vehicle to avoid being taken into custody. 

A brief physical struggle ensued but Spurlock was able to drive away, police said. 

According to the probable cause statement, a vehicle pursuit began that lasted over 40 minutes and through multiple counties. 

Officers said during the chase Spurlock drove in excess of 100 mph and on the wrong side of the road. 

When the pursuit ended, police found marijuana and rolling papers used for marijuana in Spurlock's car. 

According to the probable cause statement, Spurlock is known to evade law enforcement to avoid arrest.
