Columbia police arrest man accused of smashing car windshield with hammer

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Columbia police arrested Craig Faust on Monday afternoon after officers were dispatched to reports of domestic assault in the 700 block of Sexton. 

The female victim told police that she was arguing with Faust when she tried to get into her car in an attempt to leave. 

Faust was accused of slamming the garage bay door on the car's hood. He was also accused of taking a hammer and breaking the car's front glass windshield while the woman was in the car. 

The woman told officers that glass shards fell on her. 

Faust faces possible charges of domestic assault and property damage.
