CVS Pharmacy requested a plat approval at Thursday night's Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
Thursday night's request was different than the rezoning request that was denied in October -- this one does not have to be passed by City Council if it meets all city ordinances.
The company is planning to build on the Southeast corner of Broadway and Providence Road.
That plot of land is currently separated into five zones, but the plat approval requested to get it consolidated into one piece of land.
The request was approved by all but one commissioner.
The issue is set to appear at the next City Council meeting on Jan. 21.
