Community groups, Columbia police to address recent shootings at upcoming meeting

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Columbia chapter of the NAACP will hold its third community meeting with the Columbia Police Department Tuesday evening. The meeting, which is open to the public, is at 7 p.m at the Second Baptist Church (407 E Broadway).

The series of meetings aims to improve community relations with the police and will address the string of gun-related incidents that occurred last week. There were 11 incidents involving a firearm and/or gunshots between Oct. 17-22.
