Crash on Route K leaves one driver with serious injuries

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Route K Saturday morning. 

According to troopers, a pickup was heading north on Route K toward Columbia, and a Kia was heading the opposite direction. The Kia tried to pass in a no-passing zone.

The driver of the pickup was not taken to the hospital, but the driver of the Kia was. 

Troopers say the truck driver was wearing a seat belt, the Kia driver was not.

Route K was closed for a little more than an hour while troopers investigated the scene.
