Jefferson City police investigating armed robberies overnight

Two seperate incidents on Elizabeth and Jefferson Streets

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Jefferson City police are investigating two armed robberies early Saturday morning.

According to a news release, officers first got a call at 12:28 a.m. from a man who said three armed, masked men assaulted and robbed him in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street.

Four minutes later, officers were called to the McDonalds at 1918 Jefferson Street for an armed robbery. Employees said two masked men with handguns got away with a some money from the restaurant.

Police did not say Saturday if the two were related.

JCPD is still investigating the incidents.
