JEFFERSON CITY, Mo - UPDATE 3:00pm: Jefferson City Police confirmed to ABC 17 News the identity of the suspect involved in Tuesday morning's chase.
Derrell Demetrius Riley is facing resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
The 31-year-old is being held in the Cole County Jail and court records show he is on parole.
UPDATE 6:29am: Jefferson City police have just released details about a chase Tuesday morning on Missouri Boulevard.
It ended near Stoneridge Parkway.
Police say an officer tried to pull someone over in the 2800 block of Missouri Boulevard around 3:15 this morning.
They say the driver then sped off before crashing. Police say the suspect then got out and ran, but was caught after falling from an embankment.
The suspect was apparently wanted for a parole violation.
Police say he was taken to University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and is now in the Cole County jail.
Officers arrested the men on suspicion of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
UPDATE 5:32am: Police have reopened Missouri Boulevard and the scene is now cleared.
ABC 17 News has called JCPD to find out what caused the closure and we're waiting to hear back.
ORIGINAL: Right now Jefferson City police have shut down a section of Missouri Boulevard while they appear to be conducting a search.
Our ABC 17 News crews say at least eight police cars were on the scene near Stoneridge Parkway around 3:30 Tuesday Morning.
They also say they saw a car facing westbound in the eastbound lanes in a ditch.
Police were seen using flashlights to look around.
