COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Eight people were arrested during a sobriety checkpoint early Sunday morning in north Columbia.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department and Columbia Police set up the checkpoint in the 4300 block of Mexico Gravel Road East.

One person was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, 4 for misdemeanor DWI, and 3 for misdemeanor driving with a suspended or revoked license. 

Deputies and officers checked 120 vehicles during the checkpoint between 12:02 and 2:45 a.m.
