Election results: Mid-Missouri's biggest races

It was a decisive night for Missouri voters as several important issues were on the ballot.

Amendment 1, the right to farm, passed by 2,528 votes.

Amendment 7, the 3/4-cent sales tax increase for highways and road improvements failed statewide. The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission commented, "We are very disappointed in the result, but the people have spoken and we respect that."

Amendment 5, the right to bear arms, passed in Missouri by nearly 400,000 votes.

Cole County voters turned down a zoning issue that failed 8,305 to 7,391. The issue would have preserved existing property.

In Boone County, Proposition EPIC (Economic Development, Parks, Investment in Community), a 1/8 cent sales tax increase failed by a vote of 18,158 to 9,201. That proposition would have helped boost recreational activities at the Boone County Fairgrounds, and preserved Boone County heritage.
