BOONE COUNTY, Mo. -

Fire crews from Southern Boone Protection District and Boone County Fire Protection District were still on the scene of a house fire late Wednesday night.

The fire started along the side of a house in the 8000 block of Tom Bass Road, near Ponderosa Street around 7 p.m.

A family of five was home at the time of the fire, but got out without injury.

Ten units responded to the scene and found the side of the house engulfed in flames.

Firefighters at the scene told ABC 17 News the fire was under control in 45 minutes, but not fully out until 10 p.m. Crews remained on scene late to check for hot spots.

Investigators were still looking into the cause of the fire late Wednesday night.
