A Jefferson City woman is behind bars after she allegedly assaulted two people over a dispute about bingo winnings.
According to Ashland Police Department Chief Lyn Woolford, Margaret Thomas, 51, of Jefferson City, pulled over on Highway 63 during an argument and assaulted a passenger with scissors.
Woolford said that passenger needed 32 stitches in her cheek. A second passenger was also injured while trying to to help the first victim.
Authorities believe the dispute stemmed from how to split $200 in bingo winnings.
The chief said Thomas left the passengers on the side of the highway and fled the scene. She was later arrested on Locust Street in Jefferson City by local police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Thomas has been charged with armed criminal action and first-degree domestic assault. She remains in the Boone County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
