JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Sara Walsh is the newest member of the Missouri House of Representatives.
The Republican from Ashland was sworn in today during a ceremony in the House chamber.
She represents Missouri’s 50th District, which includes parts of Boone, Cole, Moniteau and Callaway counties.
Walsh told ABC 17 News, "It's an honor and privilege to take the oath of office to support our U.S. and Missouri Constitution and to serve the citizens of Missouri's 50th District."
Walsh defeated Democratic challenger Michela Skelton in August’s special election.
She replaces Caleb Jones, who resigned from the House in December to become the deputy chief of staff for Gov. Eric Greitens.
