Missouri rodeo clown says comments not meant to offend
Mo. rodeo clown who spoke while another clown wore Obama mask says comments intended as fun
A clown who provided commentary while another clown wore an Obama mask during a rodeo at the Missouri State Fair says he's received death threats and never intended to offend anyone.
Another clown wore the Obama mask during the rodeo Aug. 10 in Sedalia, while Tuffy Gessling made comments to the crowd, including "We're gonna stomp Obama." The rodeo act was sharply criticized by officials in Missouri as disrespectful of Obama.
Gessling says that people have also threatened to run him over and burn down his home. But he says the clown act wasn't intended to be any different than acts that parodied other presidents.
Gessling also says he has a rodeo coming up in Jefferson City and if President Obama comes, he'd like to shake his hand.
