4 DWI arrests made Friday night

MoDOT tells drivers to watch out for...

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. - While people celebrate Halloween over the weekend, the Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers that more impaired drivers will most likely be on the roadways.

"With an increased number of impaired drivers on the road and an increase in pedestrian traffic as children trick-or-treat, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration classifies Halloween as a statistically dangerous night for impaired driving," MoDOT sent in a press release.

As of Saturday morning, four people were booked at the Boone County jail for charges of driving while intoxicated, according to the Boone County 0700 report.

MoDOT encouraged drivers to make a plan to safely get home before leaving for Halloween festivities, and to designate a sober driver.

If someone has been drinking, they should call a taxi, family member or friend or take public transportation instead of driving.
