Moniteau County woman arrested, accused of having drugs, paraphernalia and weapon

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. - Moniteau County deputies arrested Artenze Lay after deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday. 

Deputies said when they made contact with Lay, she was extremely nervous and was driving with no headlights on. 

Deputies said they searched her car and found a substantial amount of methamphetamine, scales and a firearm. 

Deputies said they arrested Lay, who was taken to the Moniteau County Jail.

Deputies said when Lay arrived at the jail, deputies found more drug paraphernalia on her person. 

Lay has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance inside a jail facility and unlawful use of a weapon.
