CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. -

One man is dead and two others were seriously injured following an overnight car crash in Chariton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says three men were traveling in an SUV on Route PP near Salisbury around 12:20 a.m. Sunday when it crashed. Troopers say the car ran off the side of the road, hit a culvert and overturned.

Scott Callighan, 27, of Salisbury, Kyle Fischer, 20, of New Cambria, and Casey Stundebeck, 26, of Salisbury were all ejected from the vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol.

Stundebeck was pronounced dead at the scene. Callighan and Fischer were flown by helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia with serious and moderate injuries, respectively.

Troopers say none of the men were wearing a seat belt and they do not know who was driving the car. The crash is still under investigation.
