Police respond to Northwestern University for reports of person with gun

EVANSTON, Ill. - UPDATE 4:40 pm: Officials said the threat has been cleared. 



ORIGINAL STORY: Northwestern University officials asked people to take shelter on Wednesday afternoon after a report of a person with a gun on the school's Chicago campus. 

A spokesperson for the University said the school had a report of a person with a gun in Engelhart Hall, a graduate student dormitory on the Evanston campus. 

Evanston and Northwestern University police are on the scene. 



The report comes as students across the country walked out of school to protest gun violence.
