Deputies Find Missing Hunter

Kenneth Mason was lost in Mark Twain National Forest in Callaway County.

A man who got lost Tuesday night in Mark Twain buy Adobe Captivate 4National Forest in Callaway County has been found, authorities say.


Kenneth Mason, 66, was found just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.


Mason had been hunting in the forest area near County Road 354 Tuesday when he called a family member at 5:40 p.m., saying he was lost.


Family members were again able to reach Mason around 7 p.m., but the call was dropped due to spotty cell phone service in the area. The situation was reported to sheriff's deputies soon afterward.

After a 12-hour overnight search, deputies found Mason. He was uninjured, deputies said.
