Alleged Kidnapper to Appear in Court

A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 24 for Robert Allen. He is one of eight people being held in connection with the kidnapping and murder of an Ohio man in December. In Audrain County Friday, Allen asked a judge to reduce his bond or move him to the Callaway County Jail. Both motions were overruled.   Posted by Matt LeBlanc

One of the people being held in connection with the Delphi 2009 Architect and C++ Builder 2009 oemkidnapping and murder of an Ohio man in Audrain County was scheduled to appear in court Friday.


Robert Allen is charged with kidnapping - a Class B felony - in the case. He faces up to 15 years in prison for his role in the kidnapping of James McNeely, who was found dead in December inside a semi trailer in Vandalia.

Seven other people - including two juveniles - have been charged either with murder or kidnapping in connection with the case.

Audrain County Prosecutor Jacob Shellabarger said a date for a preliminary hearing likely will be set today for Allen.
