Deputies Arrest Man with Federal Warrant

They found the suspect while conducting a narcotics investigation.

A Columbia man is in jail this morning after his arrest late Monday night on a number of charges and a no-bond federal warrant.

Boone County Sheriff's deputies conducting a narcotics investigation contacted 36-year-old Samuel Haley in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn in Columbia.  They say as they made contact, Haley took offMicrosoft AutoRoute 2010 download running into the woods near Newton Drive and Leslie Lane.  The pursuing deputy says he found a gun dropped by Haley as he ran; that gun was later determined to have been stolen.


More deputies arrived on scene to assist in the search for Haley, and were helped by Columbia police officers and Highway Patrol troopers.  A K9 unit was called to help look for Haley, who was eventually found hiding under a car on Newton Drive.


Deputies arrested Haley for resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm, and receiving stolen property.  After taking him Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended downloadinto custody, deputies found Haley has a no-bond federal probation and parole warrant for an original charge of narcotics possession.
