Boone Co. Treasurer Kay Murray announced today she is stepping down from her post effective February 28. Murray has served as the county's treasurer since 1977 and worked for the county 10 years prior to being elected.
Murray said she was proud of the investments her office made during her time that generated revenue for the county. She also cited modernizing the office and good accounting practices as things she was proud of during her tenure.
Murray did not give a reason for stepping down and said she planned to spend more time with her adult children and their families
