The sheriff's department arrested Fritz in connection for the murder with Kinga Gillibrand. Fritz is being held in the Maries County jail on $500,000 bond. But search crews are still out looking for her body. ABC 17 News talked to the sheriff and search crews who finished searching for the day without finding the body and they have no new leads.
Crews are searched a 270 acre that's extremely remote with rugged terrain, but those conditions aren't going to stop them from searching. Crews tell us they will take a break to come up with a new strategy, and figure out the next area they will search.
Gillibrand has been missing since June eighth, and investigators tell us that's when they believe Fritz shot and killed Gillibrand, and say just recently the evidence has been building up against him.
Investigators say when Gillibrand went missing, family members called up thinking foul play was involved. They say she was in constant contact with them, and all the sudden they heard nothing from her. Family members also told investigators Gillibrand would never leave her child without telling somebody.
Right now investigators think her body is somewhere in the woods behind the house and are trying almost everything to find the body.
"Currently we're searching for the remains of Ms. Gillibrand, we're using all available means, we're searching by air, ATV's, foot, we had dive crews and water patrol assisting with the search of the nearby lakes," Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman tells us.
Several agencies are assisting with the search and crews from as far away as Eureka brought in cadaver dogs to help find the body.
Terry Fritz is expected to be arraigned sometime next week and we will continue to follow developments in the case.
