Mid- Missouri ACLU Attorney Dan Viets is filing a complaint against the Columbia Police Department, for the SWAT incident that happened in February that resulted in a dog being shot to death during the execution of a search warrant at Jonathan Whitworth's home in Columbia.
In the letter, Viets disagrees with Police Chief Keith Burton decision that police officers acted appropriately. Viets tells ABC17 that he wants to see changes done to the way police execute search warrants.
The Reivew Board is already reviewing a complaint from California. They meet again this Wednesday.
