Columbia police are looking for three men who robbed two people at gunpoint early Thursday morning.
Just before 2:00 a.m., the victims, a male and female, say they were sitting in a car at the Gatehouse Apartment complex when three males drove up in a mid-sized blue sedan. The victims say the trio appeared to do some kind of maintenance on the car before driving away.
They returned on foot a short time later and confronted the victims. One of the men had a handgun and demanded money. He got the female's purse and wallet, then hit the male with the pistol. The suspects then ran away.
The male victim suffered cuts around his eye and was treated at the scene. Officers recovered the stolen purse in the parking lot of the nearby Holiday House apartments, but didn't specify what was still in it, if anything.
Police are looking for three black males; each wore a white t-shirt over his head to conceal his identity.
