The City of Columbia opened recently completed new traffic lanes on Scott Boulevard in the southwest portion of the city.
Traffic will be diverted to those lanes while work will continue on two lanes on the west side of Scott Boulevard, the city said.
The work is part of an expansive plan to improve the heavily traveled corridor. The Scott Boulevard project is expected to be completed next year, the city said.
Some street intersections along the corridor will be closed during construction.
