COLUMBIA, Mo. -

Sunny skies with little cloud cover helped melt ice and sleet that accumulated on roads Sunday afternoon and evening.

Columbia Public Works reported on their Facebook page that a salt and cinder mix was dropped on roads Sunday to improve traction on slippery spots.

CPW cautioned that roads in shaded areas may have slick spots that could refreeze tonight, and snow operations were deactivated Monday afternoon.

Jefferson City Public Works Director Britt Smith told ABC 17 News primary routes are mostly clear, with patchy ice on turn lanes and in shaded spots.

Smith reported secondary routes are partially clear with some icy spots, especially on shaded streets.
