Troopers say texting while driving caused serious Montgomery County crash
Troopers believe texting while driving was the cause of a serious car crash early Wednesday morning.
A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states Jada S. Palmer, 35, of Montgomery City was traveling on Route 161 near Airport Road around 1 a.m.
Troopers say Palmer lost control of the car while texting, causing the car to leave the road, overturn and catch on fire. Palmer was ejected from the car.
She was transported to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
The Highway Patrol says Palmer was not wearing a seat belt.
