HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. -

Holts  Summit and Jefferson City Police worked together to arrest two people for passing counterfeit bills at a business in Holts Summit.

An employee at a business on Northstar Drive called 911 and said a driver in the drive-through had tried to buy something with a counterfeit $20 bill.

The employee told officers the driver was headed south. While Holts Summit Police were responding to the scene they were able to contact Jefferson City Police who spotted the vehicle driving west on Hwy. 54.

Jefferson City Police conducted a traffic stop where the driver was positively identified, and his female passenger made incriminating statements.

A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested and taken to the Callaway Co. jail pending charges. A 5 month old baby in the car was turned over to family members by the Missouri Division of Family Services.
