Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on Highway 54 Fulton, police say

FULTON, Mo. - UPDATE 4:55 pm: Fulton police have identified the victim as Dustin Anderson. 

Police and troopers did a crash reconstruction on Monday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY: Fulton police said they are working with the Missouri State Highway Patrol in a fatal crash investigation involving a pedestrian Sunday morning.

Police said they received reports of a pedestrian walking in the middle of Highway 54 near County Road 306 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Before officers arrived to the scene, they received more reports that the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, police said.

Police said that when they arrived, they found a man on Highway 54 that had been struck by a vehicle and that the vehicle had left the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said if anyone has information regarding the fatal crash, they should call either the Fulton Police Department at 573-592-3100 or the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The investigation is ongoing.

Police said they are not releasing the identity of the victim until the next of kin has been notified.
