Daily Forecast

Heat peaks Saturday, storms Saturday night

TONIGHT: We'll have another warm, muggy night with lows in the upper 70s and winds out of the south near 5-8 mph under clear skies.

SATURDAY: Temperatures climb to the upper 90s, reaching 100 in a few spots. The humidity will push heat indices to near 110 in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. It will stay dry through most of Saturday, but rain chances increase after 7 PM north of I-70 as a cold front approaches.  There is a Marginal Risk for severe storms Saturday evening for areas north of HWY 50 for isolated quarter size hail and wind gusts to 60 mph. Storms will gradually shift to the south overnight and weaken.

EXTENDED:  Spotty showers and thunderstorms are possible through early-morning Sunday. Most of the day will be dry but a few storms could develop south of HWY 50 by late afternoon and into the evening. The passing cold front responsible for the storms chances will bring relief from the heat, with high temperatures staying near 90 Sunday. Temperatures will be seasonal for Monday and Tuesday, dropping back into the upper 80s. However, a warm front will move through Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of storms, rising heat and humidity for the second half of next week.  High temperatures are expected to climb back into the lower 90s. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
