Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito, back on Twitter on Monday, posted an apology for his recent comments and expressed a desire to continue his playing career.
On Friday, shortly after NFL investigator Ted Wells concluded that Incognito and two teammates bullied and harassed then-Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin, Incognito posted on @68INCOGNITO, "Goodbye twitter. Be well ... See you on the other side." His Twitter account was then shut down.
On Monday, Incognito was back on Twitter, making three consecutive posts: "What's up TWITTER. Happy Monday. ... I apologize for acting like a big baby the last few days. This has all been so much on me and my family. ... I just want to play football. I want everyone to know I'm in good spirits and looking forward to playing again one day."
Prior to taking his Twitter-free weekend, Incognito used the medium to initially tweet messages supportive of Martin before he took shots at his onetime teammate, whom he called a "close personal friend." Incognito also ripped Wells for failing to be impartial in his investigation.
Incognito also re-tweeted messages from numerous people who wrote messages ripping him for his treatment of Martin.
