The No. 8 Missouri Tiger softball team rallied to send the game into extra innings but, ultimately, fell short in 11 innings, losing to Arkansas Saturday, 4-1.

Entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Tigers (24-5, 9-4 SEC) trailed Arkansas 1-0.  With one out, though, sophomore Kelsea Roth clubbed her 12th home run of the year to tie the game up at one and send it to extra innings.

In the top of the 11th inning, Arkansas touched starter Chelsea Thomas for three runs.  Thomas finished the game having thrown all 11 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out 10 batters for the 44th time in her career.

Arkansas pitcher Kimmy Beasley matched Thomas pitch for pitch, throwing 11 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run, and striking out 12 Mizzou hitters.

After the game, head coach Ehren Earleywine said Thomas would, indeed, pitch for the third consecutive game Sunday in the series finale.
