Delaware State 22, Howard 20: Mitchell Ward kicked a 26-yard field goal as time expired as the Hornets stunned the visiting Bison in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference clash.Milton Williams had 107 yards receiving on five catches for Delaware State (4-5, 4-2 MEAC), including a 33-yard score with 1:58 remaining that pulled the Hornets within one. Cory Murphy passed for 241 yards passing and added a team-best 49 rushing yards. Greg McGhee passed for 167 yards and had 93 on the ground for Howard (3-6, 2-4), which had its two-game winning streak snapped. The Bison committed three turnovers and were called for nine penalties.Howard turned the ball over on three consecutive drives in the first half and the Hornets took advantage with a 2-yard rushing score by Nagee Jackson. Richard Aiyegoro returned a kickoff 75 yards for a score and the Bison led 14-13 at halftime due to Ward's missed extra point.Murphy fumbled at the Howard 1-yard line with 1:51 remaining in the third quarter and the Bison converted the turnover into a score. Murphy connected with Williams on the ensuing drive and the Hornets recovered an onside kick to set up the game-winning field goal.
