The Los Angeles Angels and relief pitcher Ernesto Frieri agreed on a one-year, $3.8 million contract Friday. MLB.com reported.
The 28-year-old Frieri was eligible for arbitration. He can become a free agent after the 2016 season.
In 67 appearances last year, Frieri posted a career-high 37 saves and a 2-4 record with a 3.80 ERA. He had 23 saves and a 2.32 ERA in 2012 for the Angels.
Joining Frieri in the Angels' bullpen this season will be former Cleveland Indians right-hander Joe Smith, who signed a three-year, $15.75 million contract in November.
