New York Jets rookie wide receiver Jalen Saunders returned to the team's practice facility Monday, three days after he had a "medical event" while driving his car.
The fourth-round pick was discharged from the hospital Sunday morning. He began practice in the rehab area with Jets trainers, according to Newsday.
The Jets initially said that Saunders was involved in "a single-car accident" Friday morning, but police said he did not actually crash his car.
The Jets said Saunders, 21, was OK but sent to a hospital as a precaution.
Saunders is listed as the team's No. 1 punt returner.
According to an incident report by the Florham Park Police Department, Saunders experienced an unspecified "medical event" as he made a left turn onto Park Avenue, near the practice facility. His vehicle, a black 2014 Toyota Corolla, then left the roadway and came to rest in the grass.
Alcohol and drug tests were not administered at the scene and Saunders' car was towed to the practice facility.
