Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel is getting recognized for his work this season.

Wednesday, Pinkel was named the American Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year for Region Two after leading the tigers to their best season in program history, reaching a seventh divisional title.

Coach Pinkel's 101 wins at Mizzou in 13 seasons has him tied with former coach Don Faurot for the most in school history.

The next challenge is to take on the Oklahoma State cowboys in the 2014 Cotton Bowl and with a win, Pinkel will hold the title of the winningest Mizzou coach.
