PALO ALTO, CA - In the week prior to Mizzou's NCAA tournament game, Mizzou guard Sophie Cunningham was adamant that the Tigers had to get to the Sweet 16, or it was a bust.

Mizzou shot a season-low 17 percent from three while FGCU hit 41 percent of its shots from downtown.
Sophie Cunningham led the way for Mizzou with a season-high 35 points on 10-16 shooting. Cunningham had as many points as the rest of her team combined.
In the first quarter, Mizzou had no response for Rosmarie Julien who had eight first-quarter points and was one of three Eagles in double figures in the first half. The Tigers trailed 15-10 after the opening ten minutes.
The lone bright spot in the first half was Sophie Cunningham who had 18 points on 6-8 shooting, but the rest of her team combined for just 14 points.
The Tigers allowed FGCU to shoot 52 percent from the field and trailed 41-32 at the half. The Tigers turned the ball over 10 times in the first half alone.
In the second half, Mizzou cut the deficit to five, but the Eagles began to pull away ending any chance at a comeback.
