LeBron wins MVP honors after near triple-double

Trailing by 13 points about halfway through the fourth quarter, Team LeBron turned it on down the stretch to close the gap and win the NBA All-Star Game 148-145 on Sunday night.

After LeBron James tied the score at 144-144 on a 3-pointer with 1:30 left in the game, the teams exchanged misses until DeMar DeRozan hit the second of two free throws with 40.2 seconds left to put Team Stephen up by one point.

James grabbed the lead back a few seconds later with a layup before Russell Westbrook increased the margin to three points at 10.7 seconds left with a basket following a DeRozan turnover.

James, who won MVP honors, led all scorers with 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds and eight assists. Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant was the second leading scorer for Team LeBron with 19 points.

DeRozan and Damian Lillard led Team Stephen in scoring with 21 points each. Joel Embiid added 19 points for Curry's team, with Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The other team captain, Warriors guard Stephen Curry, scored 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting. He also had six rebounds, five assists and one steal to go with six turnovers in the game.
