Web Extra: Mizzou basketball "excited" for chance to play rival Kansas

Mizzou basketball excited for chance...

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's basketball team was eager to talk about the upcoming Mizzou/Kansas exhibition game during SEC media days. Michael Porter Jr., Kevin Puryear and Cuonzo Martin spoke to media members. The game will take place Sunday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

Michael Porter Jr. and Kevin Puryear said it is a dream come true to play in a rivalry game they both grew up watching as kids. Puryear grew up in Kansas City while Porter spent much of his time growing up in Columbia.

Head coach Cuonzo Martin says the game will feel like a real game. He said he expects there to be some sloppy play from both teams given it is the first game. However, he sees the game as a good tune up and opportunity to give back to hurricane relief funds.
