Abnormally dry conditions continue in Mid-Missouri

Parts of Mid-Missouri continue to be in abnormally dry conditions due to a lack of rainfall in June and July and rising temperatures leading to worsening soil moisture. The abnormally dry conditions have expanded to include northwestern Missouri and parts of southern Missouri. Rainfall amounts for June came in at 2.05 inches and so far for July we are at an inch of rain officially at the Columbia airport. Since June 1st we are 4 inches below normal on rainfall.
