It won't be as hot the next few days as northwesterly winds aloft bring a cooler and less humid air mass into Missouri. Temperatures will be slightly cooler Wednesday with highs near 90 and a slight chance of t-storms, mainly south of I-70. Drier air moving Wednesday night will bring overnight lows down to the mid 60s under mostly clear skies with afternoon highs only in the mid 80s Thursday into Friday with abundant sunshine.
The heat will slowly return as we head into the weekend with high temperatures near 90 by Sunday. Medium range forecast models show the ridge of high pressure aloft which is normally responsible for summer heat in the central U.S. to shift back to the north. This will put us in a mostly dry weather pattern with above average temperatures for July 15-19.
