A cold weather pattern will continue through the first week of December with the polar jet stream diving south from northern Canada, sending arctic air into the United States. The first batch of arctic air settled over the area this weekend. We will only warm a few degrees Monday before the next cold front moves through Tuesday bringing a reinforcing shot of arctic air just before Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving will be dry but cold with daytime temperatures staying in the 30s. But a brief warming trend will move in for Black Friday and the holiday weekend with temperatures warming into the 40s through Sunday.

Medium range forecast models show another arctic air mass headed our way for the start of December with bitter cold air possibly settling in around the 4th.
