The weather pattern will change for the start of May bringing high temperatures down 30 degrees in just one day. The jet stream will remain in the northern plains through Tuesday keeping Mid-Missouri in warm air with highs in the mid 80s. The upper level winds will dive south Wednesday bringing much cooler air into the central plains with falling temperatures Thursday in Mid-Missouri.
An area of low pressure aloft will develop and cut off from the main upper level wind flow. This will keep cool air over Missouri and rotate moisture through the region with shower chances through Sunday. High temperatures will fall to near 50 Thursday and Friday with overnight lows in the upper 30s, warming slightly during the weekend as the upper low moves east.
