Friday will be the transition day as we go from hot, dry weather to wet, cooler weather. A cold front will move through Mid-Missouri, positioned near I-44 by 7 p.m. As cooler air moves in behind this front, a few showers and t-storms will develop by mid-afternoon in our northwestern counties, spreading southeast as we head into the evening.

Rain is possible for high school football games Friday evening with temperatures falling into the 70s through the evening. Spotty storms are possible and could lead to delays in games if lightning is near. Severe weather is not expected.
